7th March 2014
Dear Donors and supporters
Just a quick update on current news: the Table Top Sale on March 1st made a final total of £438- a fantastic effort, more than double last year’s total. There were lots of tables and lots of people and table toppers reported brisk trade. Many thanks to all of you who came on the day, donated stuff to sell or had your own table. A brilliant result!
We also held a coffee morning in London last week at Ellie Stewart’s which raised £135 and we have also had a number of donations over the last few weeks, totalling £210. Thanks to Ellie, thanks to all our donors. Pictures of both these events are on Facebook.
So as we leave for Kenya we have a massive £783 boost to the health fund and a strong sense of the commitment that lots of people have to what Education Exchange is doing.
We have a busy programme of visits and meetings in and around Wundanyi next week. One of our principal tasks will be to plan in detail with Mvono Clinic staff the improvements which Education Exchange can help bring to reality. On our return to the UK we will be promoting the health appeal and attempting to raise up to £5000 over the next two years to develop and extend the provision Mvono offers to Wundanyi residents, especially those who struggle to find the money for basic health care.
Once again, thank you for your kind help. If you have the technology and the time do follow us from 9th -19th March on twitter (@EducationEx) or on Facebook ( link via the website or at www.facebook.com/EdXKenya) where there will be regular updates of what we are doing each day and hopefully some pics of the people you are helping.
Love & best wishes, Dave & Sue
